Following its Sundance premiere, Borscht short AGUA VIVA by Alexa Haas wins SXSW Jury Award for Best Animation!
We couldn't be prouder of our magical human friend Alexa Haas and her incredible producer Taylor Shung on their win. Thank you to everyone in Miami that came to support Agua Viva's rough cut screening at Borscht Diez just over a year ago and all those who made it possible for a first-generation, first-time writer and director to tell her story in an environment where no men were involved in the green-lighting process!
Many thanks to OneFifty for helping bring to life our 1st Generation Storytellers Initiative, La Croix and the Knight Foundation for partnering on the #NoBroZone, Cinereach for forging a space where Agua Viva and so many other Borscht projects were created, and finally ArtCenter/South Florida for supporting our filmmakers and their travel to festivals.
